The French & Indian War determined the fate of the New World with France ultimately ceding Canada and most of New France to the British.  At peak strength in 1757, the French fielded approximately 10,000 men in North America.  Brickafig's French infantryman depicts the typical uniform of the period including a sword,  cartridge box, wine flask and more.
